Sermon Description: The first three gospels all have accounts of Jesus warning the disciples about how the message of the gospel would strain the family ties: “I came to set a man against his father, …daughter against mother, daughter-in-law against mother-in-law” etc. These passages seem harsh from our perspective because most of us can’t imagine how the love of God in Jesus Christ could tear a family apart.
