Sermon Description: The gospel story we consider today follows immediately upon the transfiguration story of last week. It’s “just another healing story” but the feast of insight is on the topic of faith. This text embodies the challenge of being a person of faith. Everything from the father’s confession, “I believe: help my unbelief” to the challenge the disciples have in accomplishing what faith requires, are lessons on the journey of belonging to God.
